Description

The Fire Station in Anno 1800 is a core building, and it plays a crucial role in protecting both your residential areas and industrial zones. When planning your city, you’ll need to place Fire Stations at regular intervals to keep fire risks under control. Once built, a Fire Station reduces the chance of fires, particularly in places like the Schnapps Distillery and responds immediately when one breaks out.

Because fires can start at any time, every city and industrial area must have at least one Fire Station within range. If a building catches fire, having a Fire Station nearby ensures an instant response. Without one, the fire will spread quickly and can cause major damage.

If you place a Fire Station in Anno 1800, after a fire has already started, it will take one minute for the firefighters to train before they can respond. During that time, the fire will spread quickly through the nearby buildings.

When a fire gets worse, you can choose to mobilize extra units from your Fire Stations. Below is a quick breakdown of when these additional units become available.

  • +10 happiness and >= 100 population = 1 extra unit.
  • +30 happiness and >= 200 population = 2 extra units.
  • +50 happiness and >= 300 population = 3 extra units

These are the values required to mobilize extra units, along with what each one needs. To use them, simply click on the Fire Station and manually deploy the additional firefighters.

Improvements

Placement

Let’s look at how to improve the placement of the Fire Station in Anno 1800. Since it has an area of influence, it’s best to place the Fire Station near the centre of your layout. This way, it can cover as many nearby buildings as possible.

When placing a Fire Station near your industrial zones, try to put it as close to the centre as possible. By doing this, it can reach fires in these high‑risk areas quickly and help keep your production running safely.

Layouts

When planning the layout of the Fire Station in Anno 1800, it’s best to place it near the centre of your neighbourhoods. By doing this, you cover as many homes as possible and keep fire risks low.

You should also place Fire Stations close to your industrial buildings, since these areas are more likely to catch fire or explode. By covering both residential and industrial zones, you keep your city safer and reduce the chance of fires spreading.
